Our country, India, is known for its tourist destinations. People from many countries come here to visit. This is one of those tourist destinations. "Pahalgam" is a town and a notified area located in the Anantnag district of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is also the headquarters of the tehsil of the same name and is located on the banks of the river, 45 kilometers from Anantnag. Pahalgam is a popular hill tourist destination. It is also an important stop on the Amarnath Yatra. Thousands of tourists from all over the world come here every year.



There are many tourist places in Pahalgam. The views of which can captivate anyone. There are five such famous places around Pahalgam. These include Chandwari Baisaran Valley, Sheshnag Lake, Aru Valley, Kolhui Glacier. Pahalgam of Jammu and Kashmir is also known as "Mini Switzerland" due to its beauty. Baisaran is a beautiful place surrounded by pine forests and mountains. The lush green views here look captivating.

The terrorist massacre that happened in Pahalgam, Kashmir on 22nd April, 2025. This news has shaken the whole country. Pakistani terrorists have crossed all limits of humanity. There are reports of 28 to 30 innocent tourists visiting Pahalgam being killed. It could not even be imagined that every year, lakhs of tourists visit a place to celebrate holidays with their families and spend some special moments of their lives. Who would have thought that something like this would happen that day? Based on the news, it is being said that the innocent people who were killed were killed based on their religion. Most of the people who lost their lives are said to be tourists.



Initial investigations revealed that four terrorists divided into two groups and opened fire on two sides of the grassland. Two gunmen were standing near the snack shops. "Around 2:30 pm, two terrorists hiding behind the shops came forward. They first asked the non-locals having breakfast about their religion. Some were asked to recite the Kalma. Though the Muslim tourists did so, those who could not were killed," the official said.



The NIA believes that it was not indiscriminate firing. "They aimed at the head of each identified victim," the agency officials said. According to survivors, panic set in when the first two terrorists shot four tourists in the head. Other terrorists came out from around the jeep line and started firing at the fleeing crowd. Hearing the gunfire, three of the tourists lost their lives on the hills. One of the women jumped from the hill to save her life and got injured in her leg.


The terrorists had reportedly seized two mobile phones, one of which belonged to a tourist and the other to a local resident. Agencies have started tracking both phones to get some information about the current location of the terrorists and their activities, which will be used as crucial evidence. However, according to sources, all the devices there are switched off.

There is a feeling of hatred and revenge against Pakistan in the whole country due to the brutal killing of tourists in the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Our country's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has also clearly said that the accused of the Pahalgam attack will not be spared and they will be given such a punishment that they would not have even imagined.

Apart from this, a tourist from Maharashtra has claimed that one of the terrorists of Pahalgam attack was captured in one of his reels. He said that on 18 April 2025, he went to Betaab Valley in Kashmir with his family, which was four days before the attack. After Betaab Valley, his family also went to other tourist places like Srinagar and Gulmarg and returned a day before the attack. The person made a reel with his daughter in Betaab Valley.

Interrogation of eyewitnesses continues

Eyewitnesses are also being questioned closely to piece together the sequence of events that led to one of the worst terror attacks in Kashmir. According to an NIA statement, while the investigation team was questioning eyewitnesses of Tuesday's attack in Besaran Valley of Pahalgam in Jammu Kashmir, they told that the total number of terrorists involved in this brutal terror attack was around five to seven and they opened fire on the tourists who were roaming around the restaurant, riding mules, and enjoying a picnic.

Pulwama Attack (2019)

After the terrorist attack in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir in February 2019, the deadliest attack in the valley took place in Pahalgam. Around 6 km from the Pahalgam town, Besaran Chadh is a huge grassland surrounded by dense forests and mountains, and is one of the favorite places for tourists from India and abroad.

Elimination of these rapists is now certain. Before this, the house of terrorist Adnan Shafi was also destroyed in the Vadina area of ​​the Shopian district. Adnan Shafi had joined the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba about a year ago. Before this, the house of terrorist Farooq Ahmed in Kupwara was also blown up. Including all these, a total of 9 houses of terrorists have been razed to the ground in the Kashmir valley so far.

On the other hand, the Union Home Ministry has handed over the investigation of the Pahalgam terror attack to the NIA. Now the NIA will take the diary and FIR of the Pahalgam case from the Jammu and Kashmir Police. A big campaign is being run to break the terrorist network in Jammu and Kashmir. A total of 64 hideouts of terrorist aides in Srinagar have been booked under the UAPA. While two terrorist aides have also been arrested.

On Thursday (April 24, 2015) Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a rally held in Bihar after the Pahalgam attack that "I will go to the end of the earth and find them, they will be punished for their actions in a way they could not have imagined even in their dreams." According to the report, it is clear from PM Modi's statements that India is not limited to cancelling Pakistani visas and stopping the Indus Water Treaty, but the culprits of the Pahalgam attack will be given severe punishment. He said that our war against Pakistan has begun, not only this, Pakistanis in India have also been ordered to go back to their country as soon as possible. Every terrorist who was involved in this attack will be killed. Along with this, those who conspired for this will also not be spared. It is also being said that the P-5 countries have also staunchly supported this announcement of India.
